When driving, the traffic situation on the road keeps changing in seconds because this is a dynamic process. The driver continues to concentrate on gathering knowledge about the traffic ahead, ignoring the traffic situation on the side and rear of the vehicle. They do not use the rear view mirror and side (fender or wing) to observe the distance between you and the driver's side correctly. Vehicles that do not have special side mirrors cause serious accidents and even traffic jams. The side mirrors, also known as wing mirrors, are mainly placed on the outside of the car to help the driver keep an eye on areas behind and sides of the vehicle that are not under the peripheral vision. This is mounted on a vehicle's A-pillar and adjusted in various directions convex mirror manually or automatically. Horizontal and vertical adjustments of the mirror are made to provide adequate coverage for drivers with varying heights.
In many cars, mirror glasses are electrically heated and sometimes include electro chrome dimming which helps minimize glare from the following headlights. Some of them are equipped with turn signals, which not only provide safety when driving but also an attractive appearance for vehicles. Experts believe that the rear view mirror proves beneficial for drivers to see people driving in their lane and behind. Some fender fenders can be electrically folded or manually protect it from damage when the car is parked. Cars that pass through your vehicle can easily cut out protruding wing mirrors. Therefore, the ability to fold protects them from danger.
Types of Side Mirrors
Flat mirrors were previously used with magnification of units, ie undistorted 1: 1 images are obtained, but magnification of units limits the field of vision. Then, UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) arranged to use convex, planar or aspherical mirrors. There is a considerable distance between the driver's eyes and the passenger mirrors; therefore, useful fields of view can only be achieved with aspherical or convex mirrors. Convex mirrors minimize objects. This makes these objects appear further away from their original distance. This might give the driver the wrong idea about the distance of the next car, and he can change lanes assuming a safe distance between the two. That is why the non-planar mirrors used in the United States, India, Canada, Korea and Australia are printed with the warning legend "OBJECTS IN MIRRORS ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR."
Adjusting the Side View Mirror
Proper mirror placement is very important for good visual habits because the purpose of the mirror is to detect, not to gather information. Adjusting the side mirrors is very simple.
1. To adjust the driver's side mirror, place your head next to the left side window and bend the mirror so you can see the side area of your vehicle.
2. To adjust the passenger side mirror, place your head so that it is directly above the large convex mirror center console. Now, adjust the mirror so you can barely see the side surface of the vehicle to the left of the mirror.
When a morning with high traffic begins, car protection becomes a critical problem. Make sure your car is equipped with important drive accessories such as side mirrors.
