Although used as a general term to describe historical periods and designs, 'vintage' actually refers to the 1940s and 1950s. Vintage can be described as nostalgic, from an era that most people can remember from childhood or at least their parents / grandparents. This style is not easy to define because it's a little mismatched. Postwar furniture in the 40s and 50s included a family heirloom, a legacy, with a make-do-and-fix attitude. Items from many different eras are therefore included. Wrought iron furniture is often seen when passed down to the next generation of the industrial large convex mirror revolution and the Victorian era.

Influence

The great trend of wrought iron furniture exploded in the 1920s America thanks to designers like John B Salterini, Lee Woodward and Joseph Leinfelder. Salterini is a big influence; a medieval designer from New York who popularized wrought iron furniture. He was a craftsman who emigrated from Italy and from 1928 to 1953 made quality indoor and outdoor iron furniture. These include highly decorative wine racks, French-inspired dressing chairs, cocktail tables, love chairs and candle holders. These trends inevitably walk across the seas to England where intricate iron furniture designs are seen in the homes of high-end communities across the country.

Victorian era

Every style from Rococo to Gothic enjoyed a revival in the Victorian era. The best way to describe period decorations is as luxurious and luxurious. Wrought iron furniture is very popular due to the fact that it can be 'worked' into an intricate and complicated design. The industrial revolution has allowed mass production of material. Traditional craftsmen produce extraordinary ornate designs that decorate Victorian homes. Often referred to as a 'heavy' style of decoration, Victorian British adore wrought iron furniture. French-inspired curls, coils and coils are very popular both inside houses in mirrors, candlesticks, coat stands and tables. English rural parks would not be complete without traditional garden chairs and wrought iron benches.

Art Nouveau

The Art Nouveau decorating style emerged in the 1890s with the Arts & Crafts movement. 'New Art' is to move away from more traditional, artistic styles with Distressed convex mirror curved lines and motifs that are influenced by nature. This also influenced the popularity of wrought iron furniture because the curved design that combined plants, birds, flowers and vines was easy to make.

Shabby Chic

This movement is described as a French state, although there are many different variations and interpretations. This term was not coined until the 80s and aims to mimic the look of 18th century country houses. This was strongly influenced by the antique French style. Old antique wrought iron furniture fits this decor.

Gothic

Gothic style in interior decoration was originally inspired by the church and medieval architecture. It made a brief return in the late 1800s, popular because of its grand, dramatic, style. When we think of Gothic architecture, we think of large cathedrals, grandeur, stained glass, intricate details, and symbolism. This style admirer uses dark wrought iron furniture and details to create a magnificent gothic interior, including sconces, candles, intricate mirrors and curved chairs.

The versatile wrought iron furniture can be used to re-create many vintage interior decoration styles. It doesn't matter whether you want to create an elegant and romantic dining room or a rustic, shabby kitchen. Antique wrought iron furniture and accessories can be used to style space from any era.
